Records put the construction of the first phase of Almaden Center down to 1964. (Thank you Frank Langben for helping find this piece of information). I’m intrigued by the mention of a Burdine department store in the complex. Does anyone who has lived in Almaden remember such a store? All my research points to Burdine’s having been a Florida-based department store, with no ties to California.
