The Ann Darling Shopping center is where the Food Bowl sign stands. The sign dates back to 1959. Yet another fantastic googie sign where the top of the sign rotates. I can’t tell whether it is free-swinging now or still motorized like it used to be.

When I sketch signs in parking lots I can’t help but imagine what that parking lot would have looked like years ago. Here is a shot of that parking lot I was in yesterday, just 3 years before the sign was installed (but after Ann Darling existed). Look at those cars!
