Ritz Cleaners is now gone, as is the rest of the strip mall it stands in.

It’s so easy to overlook these spaces as eyesores, but take a closer look at the scene and you will see it is full of little surprises and treasures. Like this fantastic light fixture on a sign next to the Ritz sign.

Or this sunburst motif .

Most fascinating to me, is this Smiley at the top of the sign.

So much is missed in just driving by these signs. Stopping, even for a quick minute, means you will be rewarded with little discoveries.
