The Center Paint Company sign is probably from 1955. The store moved to the current location in 1965, but the sign is older and the store is now called Martin Auto Color. Just look at that wonderful amoeba-shaped lit-up section at the top of the sign!
The California-based Electrical Products Corp. was licensed by the ZEON Corp. to manufacture this sign. You can see the manufacturer’s mark in this photograph by Heather David.
Here’s another view, looking west past the Center Paint sign. That little section of the street is full of interesting little signs. I’m going to have to go back to sketch more of them in detail.
